Due to the growth of online advertising and the booking of rooms for short term stays, the Treasurer's Office would like to make taxpayers aware of the Butler County Hotel Occupancy Tax.
According to the Butler County Room Rental Tax Ordinance, any homeowner that is providing sleeping accommodations to the general public for periods of less than 30 days is "responsible for reporting and collecting a 5% room rental tax from their guests and remitting to the Treasurer's Office".
