Treasurer
The Treasurer's Office is the banking office of the county. The office receipts all local, state and federal monies and reconciles all county fund bank accounts. Collections and receipts include real estate taxes, licensing fees, and grants payable to the County. The Treasurer's Office processes the real estate tax revenues remitted by the municipal tax collectors in Butler County and serves as tax collector for county taxes for the City of Butler, and as municipal tax collector for the boroughs of Callery, Connoquenessing, Karns City, Saxonburg, Valencia and West Sunbury.
The Treasurer's Office collects the 5% Hotel Tax, which in turn is released to the Butler County Tourism Bureau whose mission is to attract and promote tourism in the area.
In addition, the Treasurer's Office sells hunting, fishing and dog licenses, and issues Bingo and Small Games of Chance licenses. Dog licenses may be purchased in the Treasurer’s Office, at an authorized licensing agent, or online.

Major Hunting License Changes for the 2023 - 2024 Hunting Year
Beginning on June 26 all hunters may apply for their hunting license privileges and antlerless hunting licenses online through the PGC website huntfish.pa./gov The PGC has eliminated the need to mail antlerless licenses to county treasurers. They are available online or at any PGC agent who sells hunting licenses. A list of PGC agents is available on the PGC website huntfis.pa/gov. There are NO antlerless applications printed when you purchase your general hunting license. There are NO antlerless paper license applications found in the Hunter's Digest as in the past. Your information is entered online or by using your CID, Social Security number, driver's license and DOB.
If you are a Landowner, Active Military or a Disabled Veteran, you must still purchase your hunting licenses at the county treasurer's office. This requirement was not changed in the law when the legislators removed the county treasurers' office from being the sole issuers of antlerless licenses.
Small Games of Chance Licenses, Special Raffle Permits and Bingo Licenses can be processed through the mail or by appointment only on Mondays and Thursdays. Please call 724-284-5151 or 724-284-5153 to schedule an appointment.
