An evaluator will meet with the child and family to conduct the evaluation in a setting familiar to the child. To qualify for Early Intervention, a child must show a 25% delay in one area of development:
- Cognitive development
- Communication development
- Physical development including vision and hearing
- Self-Help or Adaptive development
- Social or Emotional development
Alternatively, the child may have a known physical or mental condition likely to result in a developmental delay. Services and supports are provided in the child's natural environment.
