NOTICE OF MUNICIPAL PRIMARY
In accordance with provisions of the Election Code, notice is hereby given to the electors of Butler County that a Municipal Primary will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, between the hours of 7:00 A.M. and 8:00 P.M., prevailing time, for the nomination of candidates to be elected to the following offices at the Municipal Election to be held on Tuesday, November 2, 2021, and for which offices nomination petitions must be filed in the office of the Secretary of the Commonwealth and in the office of the Butler County Bureau of Elections.

The casting of lots to determine the position of names on the May 18, 2021 Municipal Primary Ballot will be held on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at 1:30 P.M., in the Public Meeting Room of the Butler County Government Center.
Key Dates & Deadlines for 2021
- February 12th - Petition packets available in the Bureau of Elections.
- February 16th - First day to circulate and file nomination petitions.
- March 9th - Last day to circulate and file nomination petitions.
- March 10th - First day to circulate and file nomination papers.
- March 16th - Last day to file objections to nomination petitions.
- March 17th at 1:30 pm - Casting of lots for the Municipal Primary in the Public Meeting Room of the Butler County Government Center.
- March 24th - Last day for withdrawal by candidates who filed nomination petitions.
- May 3rd - Last day for voter registration before the Municipal Primary Election.
- May 11th - Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot.
- May 18th 8:00 PM - Deadline for voted mail-in & civilian absentee ballots.
- May 18th - Municipal Primary Election
- May 25th - Deadline for County Board of Elections to receive voted military & overseas absentee ballots (submitted for delivery by 11:59 PM on May 17th).
- May 25th - Deadline for voted military & overseas absentee ballots. 11:59 PM).
- August 2nd - Last day to circulate and file nomination papers.
- August 9th - Last day to file objections to nomination petitions.
- August 9th - Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated by nomination papers.
- August 9th - Last day for withdrawal by candidates nominated at the primary.
- October 18th - Last day for voter registration before the November Municipal Election.
- October 26th - Last day to apply for a mail-in or civilian absentee ballot.
- November 2nd 8:00 PM - Deadline for voted mail-in & civilian absentee ballots.
- November 2nd - Municipal Election
- November 9th - Deadline for voted military & overseas absentee ballots (submitted for delivery by 11:59 PM on November 1st).
