Ombudsman Services

The Ombudsman Program investigates and resolves complaints made on behalf of older individuals who reside in nursing homes, personal care homes, domiciliary care homes, or receive long-term care services.

An Ombudsman advocates for and protects the rights of all persons receiving long-term care services, and seeks to bring about needed changes to improve the quality of care received.

All contact with the Ombudsman Program is confidential.

Ombudsmen services are provided by staff and volunteers. We are always seeking caring individuals who have empathy and are good listeners to be volunteer ombudsmen. Responsibilities include visiting residents on a regular basis to make consumers aware of their rights and to assist consumers in resolving their concerns. The program offers training and flexibility.
